About the Service

Appletree & Cherrytree Houses provide supported accommodation for homeless people, aged between 16 and 25 years, who are unable to live in independent accommodation. It is not emergency accommodation.

There are many factors which may prevent people from living in their own accommodation, including; affordability (especially for people under 25 years), difficult personal circumstances, health reasons, being unable to cope with the day to day responsibilities involved with setting up and running your own home, as well as continuing in education or employment.

We aim to provide a safe and supportive environment, to give people the space and time to sort out any personal or practical difficulties.

We have an ’Independent Living Skills’ support plan and all the residents meet regularly with a support worker to resolve those issues which prevent them from living independently. Support is provided to find permanent accommodation and additional support is offered to ensure the move continues to be a successful one.

The accommodation consists of self-contained studio/one bedroom flats, with a kitchen and shower room / toilet. People can stay for up to 2 years.

Support is provided to find permanent accommodation and additional support is offered to ensure the move continues to be a successful one.
